　　It is true that there is an increasing trend of juvenile delinquency in many countries nowadays. While various hypotheses have been put forward to explain this phenomenon, I would say that this problem can be mainly attributed to the poverty and influences of media, and multiple measures needs to be carried out to curb this tendency.
　　Out of all the factors,poverty stands out as the first culprit contributing to the growing youth crimes rate. Children who live in poverty are less likely to have access to good schools, which means that many of them lack the minimum degrees and vocational skills to make a living, and therefore might embark on the path of crimes like stealing and robbery for livelihood. Another causation we cannot afford to ignore is the detrimental influence of movies and video games which are saturated with violence. A long exposure to such entertainments inevitably leads to aggressive behaviors, given that adolescents are more susceptible to the false values behind the media.
　　When it comes to the punishment of youth offenders, I would recommend a combination of incarceration and rehabilitation. For those violent lawbreakers who threat the public safety,confinement is a necessity to isolate them from endangering the life of others. Meanwhile, for those minor criminal offenders due to livelihood, I would recommend a sentence of community service coupLED with vocational trainings if possible, which is conducive to reintegrate them into society and therefore live a settled life.
　　In conclusion, it looks to me that the pervasive juvenile delinquency is a complicated problem that iscorrelated to the poverty and media influence，and accordingly a multiple punishment of confinement and education to tackle this issue.
