　　In recent years, the voice calling people and countries to save energy is increasingly stronger, due to the coming of energy crisis. The international community even faces the advocacy of taking measures to urge all countries to decrease consumption of fossil fuels immediately. However, in my mind, this is in fact impossible.
　　Admittedly, energy depletion is a serious problem confronting the whole world and it is every country’s responsibility to reduce consumption of fossil fuels. As we all know, fossil fuels, mainly including coals, natural gas and oil, are nonrenewable. The consequence of energy depletion will be borne by every member of the international community. Also, the rapid social and economic progress has greatly increased energy consumption per capita. Failing to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy in time will set all countries in trouble. Therefore, the international community ought to propel the wide application of new energy globally.
　　However, it is neither feasible nor fair to force every country in the world to reduce consumption of fossil fuels at once. It requires financial and technological base for a country to promote the use of new energy. The international community at most can play a role of encouraging the use new energy but has no right to force governments. Some countries that are still struggling with poverty and chaos caused by wars have no budgets or technologies to afford the research and application of renewable resources. Or, even they introduce new energy from foreign countries, their citizens cannot pay for it. Moreover, people in those territories have much lower energy consumption per capita, so they certainly do not need to bear that much responsibility of alleviating energy crisis.
　　To sum up, although it is high time to confront energy crisis, the international community cannot urge all countries to reduce their consumption of fossil fuels immediately.
