　　A town has been given some money to develop an open space. They might use the space for a park where everyone in town can quietly enjoy it, or they might make it a sports field for the use of students from a high school, which does not have one.
　　The prompt mentions a lucky town that’s just received some money to develop some open land that they have. They’re considering whether they should build a sports field for a high school or a lovely little park that everyone can use. In my opinion, they should use the money to develop the sports field for the school.
　　First off, children are our future, and that sports field will have a huge benefit for those students. Being on a sports team can be a big part of a kid’s high school career. Of course, classes like math and science are important, but it’s also important to develop personality and social skills at this age. These are the skills that students learn when playing on a sports team. They learn how to work with a team, how to get along with a variety of people, and how to work together to accomplish a goal. These are skills that prepare a young person for a life of success.
　　With that in mind, the students need a sports field far more than the townspeople need a quiet park. If people want to have a quiet area to enjoy, there are so many different places they could go. For example, when my dad wants to enjoy some quiet nature, he just drives a short ways outside of town so he can go for a hike in the woods. It sounds like this is a small town, so it’s very likely that it already has some quiet, natural areas close by. Those students can’t play their sports unless they have that field, but townspeople can still enjoy quiet areas by just driving a short ways outside of town.
　　In fact, building a sports field for the high school will likely benefit the entire town, not just the school. High school sports games can be an exciting event for small towns. I’m sure the townspeople will have a great time attending sports games and cheering for the hometown team. On top of that, it’ll bring visitors into the town because families of the other team will also come to watch the game sometimes. This will make more money for the town, and then maybe the town can eventually use that money to build a park somewhere else. Then they get the best of both worlds.
　　In short, there are more advantages to building the sports field for the high school. It’ll mostly benefit the students, but I believe everyone in the town will experience some of the positive effects.
