　　Approaching the recent piece of news has become a common habit in our daily life. Whether it is necessary to stop reading or listening to those news for a short period arouses a heated debate and my thoughts. From my perspective, though I might be able to absorb some original ideas from those news, I still believe stopping it for a period is necessary and spending our time on other aspects is a wiser choice for the following reasons and examples.
　　For one thing, spending too much time on social media, especially those frivolous and superficial news, would contribute to the waste of time. Furthermore, the attention of citizens, especially young people, should not be distracted by those unrelated news related to entertainers or sportsmen, instead, more focus should be placed on the development of their personal interests and the improvement of their own abilities. For instance, instead of surfing on the Internet to concern whether Miss Li Xiaolu, a Chinese celebrity in the amusement circle, dates with PG one, a rapper, young people should attempt to listen to some light or classic music to mollify their pressure that originatesfrom onerous academic or professional assignments. Besides, the trial to develop some interests, like playing musical instruments, working out in the gym or joining sports games, is much worthier than being lost in the unrelated news, such as whether the ex-CEO of DangDang, an online business giant in China, should be fired by his wife. Apparently, emphasizing the promotion of our own is much more significant than focusing on those unrelated news.
　　For another thing, the maintenance of relationship with friends and family members is far more indispensable than focusing on various pieces of news. To be specific, the rapid rhythm in the modern society has squeezed current citizens’ time available for them because of accomplishing a wide range of job assignments or schoolworks. Then, the limited time left should not be spent on approaching those news. For instance, lying on the bed to watch video clips, that might tell what is happening recently to Long Beach, California, or the border issue between Pakistan and its neighboring country, is not valuable compared with visiting friends and joining some collective activities, like mountain climbing or camping or hiking, the process of which can stimulate a lot of topics among them and then fasten their friendship. Besides, whether there are some recent robots that are sent to the Mar to discover those possible extraterrestrial creatures has nothing do with our daily life and what we should be more concerned about is to promote family bonds by having a regular weekly family reunion. It would be a great opportunity for us to exchanging our life experience with our parents and by the way absorb some life lessons, such as being persistent while some obstacles or setbacks occur to our professions. Therefore, the vacant time is limited and precious and never should we waste it on some unnecessary things, like watching those unreliable news.
　　Admittedly, some people might argue that watching news can keep us informed and updated to prevent us from being out-of-fashion. For instance, the one who cannot catch up with the recent information related to iPhone Pro Max could be seen as an idiot. It seems sensible, however, never should we consider too much how others judge us since it won’t place any influence on our daily life and work.
　　In a word, the time should be spent on those more worthwhile aspects, including the development of our own interests, capabilities and the sustenance of relationship with friends and families rather than those unrelated and frivolous news.
