　　In recent years, the violent crimes especially committed by teenagers has generated enormous publicity. So, it is suggested that the baneful effects from episodes of some films and TV series should be eliminated and any kinds of shots from these media associated with violence should be stamped out. However, others hold an opposite view, claiming that this is an integral part of movie. This essay will delve into both assertions before presenting its own.
　　One of the chief reason for restricting violence in media is that some of immature audience are apt to envision the plots and episodes as an authentic one and easily imitate them in the real world. There are some crime cases, such as kidnap, robbery and theft happening in the communities where suspects are all under 14 years old who clone the violent behaviors and commit real violent crimes. Furthermore, some of the young frenetic fans of movie characters are more likely to take wild risks and even commit crimes to ‘salute’the movie. In a word, controlling the amount of violence in films and TV effectively can decrease the violent crimes in society and preserve social security.
　　Many others, however, take a quite strong opposite attitude towards this issue. They believe that violent media have their positive sides, which should not be controlled by government. To begin with, there are many valuable education functions in this kind of films and TVsincethey reflect the reality, and we can’t imagine that there isn’t any information but only pro things in our world. Secondly, if the government controls the violent films and television, it must influence the development of the entertainment industry.
　　As far as I am concerned, I strongly believe that the amount of violence in films and TV should be controlled. At the same time, we cannot deny the advantages brought by them. And the best policy is to develop the merits of the violent films and television, while grading those that are not fit for the children to watch.
