　　There are several reasons why some people believe that reading is the best way to gain knowledge. Firstly,reading materials like books, newspapers and journals are reliable source of knowledge as the information contained inthemis normallyproduced, selected or edited by qualifiedprofessionals. The works of scientist, journalists and researchers can provide adult readers with real and factual knowledge about the world. Secondly, reading is becoming increasingly convenient these days. Many people are using electronic readers or smart phones to read e-books. These portable devices allow busy working adultsto learn something new during commuting time.
　　However, I believe that there aremore effective ways for adults to increase their knowledge. Short videos on the Internet can be a better choice for working people who find it difficult to concentrate on reading writtenmaterials after a busy day. It is always easier to understand new things demonstrated with audio-visual effects.In addition, learning from experiences is essential for working adults. Most technical and industrial knowledge are gained through practicing. For example, only by dealing with various patients can doctors practice what they have learnt from textbooks and then improve their knowledge of making accurate diagnosis.
