　　Have you ever thought of the meaning of showing respect to and taking care of the elder? If so, you may understand the happiness of the grandparents in the picture. With delicate food on the table, the family members are going to enjoy the meals. To our gratification, the little boy is so sensible that he takes the initiative to serve his grandparents, and evidently, this behavior also satisfies his parents.
　　When it comes to this topic, opinions differ owing to people's different educational and cultural backgrounds. However, the overwhelming majority of us harbor the perspective that it is incumbent on us to support the old. But is this view reasonable? Cases to this point are abundant. Take Huang Xiang , a historical figure in Chinese history, for example. Huang Xiang became a famous filial son at the age of nine. On hot summer nights, he used a fan to cool his father's bed and pillow, and drove away mosquitoes; in the cold winter, when it's dark, little Huang Xiang lied in his father's cold bed first, warmed the bed with his own body heat, and then asked the old father to sleep. Therefore, suppose that most, if not all, of us can put into practice the obligation of taking care of the elder, we are sure to welcome a harmonious family ambience, though there is still a long way to go.
　　Taking into consideration what has been argued, we can come to the conclusion that under no circumstance and at no time should we abandon the traditional virtue of of filial piety, which is an important part of Chinese culture. Moreover, we, the young generation, should also take this merit into practice so as to ensure a happy life for our grandparents, especially for those who are in their final years.
